OUR STORY
Camp Adventure is a privately owned entrepreneurial company that originated from its sister company, Manova, based in Østerbro, Copenhagen.
Camp Adventure and the Forest Tower are operated by a dedicated team of experienced, curious, and hard-working employees and experts with international perspectives and ambitions. From the very beginning, the mission has been to connect people with the beauty of nature by reimagining how it can be experienced—always with deep respect for its authenticity, and a strong focus on aesthetics and quality.
Since 2013, Camp Adventure has leased the buildings and nearly 30 hectares of surrounding land from Gisselfeld Kloster, an area also known as Denderup Vænge. The landscape is marked by rolling hills formed during the Ice Age, with the stream Brødebækken running through it, and is surrounded by large beech and oak trees.
That same year, Camp Adventure established Denmark’s largest climbing park in the forest surrounding Brødebækken. After just one season, it became clear that the area had the potential to offer even more unique nature-based experiences. In 2014, a Camp Adventure delegation visited several lookout towers across Europe—including the tower on Rügen Island—and the idea for Scandinavia’s first treetop lookout tower was born.

In a truly unique achievement, Camp Adventure received permission to build the Forest Tower in a protected forest area. On March 31, 2019, the Forest Tower—designed by EFFEKT Architects—officially opened as Scandinavia’s first treetop lookout tower.
Since then, several new initiatives have been launched. In 2020, Camp Adventure introduced its first two glamping cabins. Four more have since been added, allowing guests to enjoy year-round stays in six luxurious, hotel-comfort-level glamping accommodations set directly in nature.
In summer 2021, the largest pick-your-own flower field in the Nordic region opened, and in April 2022, a larger welcome center with a reception area and shop was completed.
Looking ahead, Camp Adventure has many future initiatives in the pipeline, including expanding accommodation options to suit different preferences. From the outset, the company has had an international vision and is working to bring its concept to a global audience. The strong international attention that the Forest Tower has attracted has supported this ambition from the very beginning.
Camp Adventure—and especially the Forest Tower—has received support from the EU’s rural development program (LAG). Additionally, Vækstfonden and Nordea have provided financial backing for the project.
